My Father the Coach was a favorite of my 6th grade students

This was the last book of the year that I read to my 6th grade students every year. It was a perfect book to read at the end of the year during the baseball season.

The dream of baseball

I thought this book reminds me of the movie "Sandlot". It gives you chills just reading it. Alfred Slote is a wonderful sports author. He gives so much detail and surprise in this story. Willie, which is the boy's father will give you a laugh or two just by the things he does in this story. But I promise you he will surprise you at the end of the story.I would suggest this book for any baseball fan out there and it will be enjoyed by all.
