Russell and Tom were playing at the beach after digging a booby trap hole. They then spotted a gnome in the sand, which Russell swore was cursed. But when their uncle went for a closer look, he found two talking mice inside of it. The rodents quickly gave their Uncle Pattie magic rabies, turned the boys into cats, and left them with twelve hours to bring them Stinky Cheese or he'd die. Plus, they would remain cats forever.

Now Russell and Tom must get a piece of Stinky Cheese from Cassie and her henchmen, learn to survive as cats, and get back within the set time to save their uncle and stop themselves from remaining cats forever. All well steering clear of cats who already have Stinky Cheese and superpowers.
