A good coach can make all the difference in the world. More Than A Game takes the important aspects of coaching young athletes and displays them in a great story about character, bravery, toughness, and the relentless drive to win as a team. As a coach reading this book, I can tell you the characters are real. You will see some of your own players portrayed in this book. Also, the "gametime" stories within the book are so vivid and exciting, you can actually visualize yourself playing in the games ! Coaching youth sports at a high level is a tough job, but if you follow the "values based" approach described in this book, you'll be very successful. Use this book as a coaching reference for yourself, a fellow coach, or anyone who is raising kids.....either way you'll enjoy the results!!!!

Could not put it down!

I had a chance to read this book last week and I could not put it down! Jim Brown did a fantastic job highlighting why we coach youth sports. It is not the X's and O's but the opportunity to affect kids in a positive way and helping cope with life experiences. Well done!
