Wonderful as Always....

Ms. Jarrett doesn't disappoint her readers with this addition to the Fairborne series. I couldn't put the book down! It was terrific!

A wonderful story about falling in love

How to put my reaction into words! I loved this book, because it was full of the tension and fear and giddy delight of falling in love. Zach and Amelie connect on so many levels that it was obvious to me, the reader, that they were meant to be together, yet the obstacles they had to surmount were real and high. No dreaded Big Misunderstanding here--just the complications that falling in love brings to one's life. The writing was lovely, lyrical without being fussy; it put me right in the story and let me understand how Zach and Amelie felt. Both characters are smart people and neither wastes much time on foolish pride. The only flaw I could find in the book was that it had to end....

Terrific colonial/Americana romance

In 1725 Boston, the Lacroix sisters run the most fashionable fashion shop in town. Anyone who is important shops at Amelie and Juliette Lacroix's establishment. While Amelie observes the Richardson wedding party from the wings, a man comes up to her and outrageously flirts with her. He kisses her and Amelie begins to think about true love. However, she quickly remembers Mamam's disbelief in love and the needs of her sibling. When she arrives at the shop, she sees Juliette is frightened because an unknown assailant tossed a package, containing money and a note to leave town through their shop window. Though the city is gripped with anti-French feelings, Amelie calms down Juliette and swears they will stay. The spouse of his cousin sends Captain Zachariah Fairbourne to the Lacroix sisters shop to pick up a package. He recognizes Amelie as the woman he kissed last night. He wants to see her, but she refuses. Zach knows he has his work cut out to prove to Amelie that true love exists and her sister will be fine without her. He also feels he must protect his beloved from the unknown assailant who wants the Lacroix sisters to leave town. With novels like CRANBERRY POINT and THE CAPTAIN'S BRIDE, fans of Colonial romance know that Miranda Jarrett is one of the genre's best. Her newest eighteenth century Americana tale, MOONLIGHT, will enhance her high esteem due to the fast-paced plot and the intermingling of niblets of historical information. The lead couple are a delightful pair, who want to do what is right for them and Juliette. The audience will be WISHING for Ms. Jarrett to quickly tell Juliette's story.Harriet Klausner
