Millionaire Republican...A great read with proven techniques while instilling a successful state of

When a man as smart, as wildly successful, and as phenomenally rich as Wayne Allyn Root bangs out a book telling you how he amassed (or, more appropriately, continues to amass) his fortune, anyone with a lick of sense and ambition would do well to pour over every page and absorb each nugget of insight on the off-chance that a tenth of his entrepreneurial brilliance might take. That's exactly what I did when I caught wind of "Millionaire Republican: Why Rich Republicans Get Rich, and How You Can Too!", and while jury's out on whether I'll reach the rich, rarefied air of, as he's known by his friends, "WAR", there's little doubt that my business philosophy has been completely transformed. I don't just want to be a Millionaire Republican: I want to be WAR. That's right...WAR. If you've got a problem with that fierce sounding acronym, well, then, I'm afraid you might be too timid for the high roller league of a man whose all-out assault on the business world demands such an appellation. In other words, keep up that "well meaning" facade and, please, keep voting Democrat. There's no room for such queasy thinking on the dominant (Republican) side of the aisle, which is where WAR proudly resides (as I do), and where the only opportunity for massive financial success can be found. What's so liberating (certainly not "liberal") about WAR's philosophy is his emphasis on the irrefutable fact that, for all intents and purposes, "Rich" = "Republican". It's something I always knew, but, to tell you the truth, it was something I didn't want to admit outside of like-minded company. Well, the secret (if it ever really qualified as a "secret") is out, and WAR is leading the charge to inform the rest of the public that there's only one political ideology that'll allow you to realize your grandest fiscal ambitions. WAR says what we've always thought: "The vast majority of business owners in America are Republicans. The vast majority of homeowners are Republicans. The vast majority of stock owners are Republican. The vast majority of millionaires are Republican." In other words, as he succinctly puts it, "The GOP is the party of ownership." If that sounds like gloating, it really isn't. WAR may have an ego - which, as he maintains in one of my favorite chapters, is a good thing (WAR calls this Republican principle "The Ego Rules") - but his is a truly generous nature. Not only does he tithe 10% of his book earnings to a Christian Orphanage in Burundi, Africa called The Rainbow Centre (run by his cousins-in-law), he's giving us a peek behind the curtain and telling everyone - regardless of gender, race, creed, or political affiliation - how to improve and uplift ourselves. He teaches us about the 3 Great Republican Rules of Ownership, Salesmanship and Entrepreneurship (Risk-taking), the amazing "18 Republican Secrets of Mega-Wealth and Unlimited Success," and preaches the power of Red State dominance. Living in Hollywood, I used to bristle when I h

Great Ideas for Investing like a Republican Millionaire

I thought this book would be about politics. It's not. It's about the mindset that makes so many Republicans so rich- just as Democrats and the media always state. Yes Republicans are richer than the rest of us- author Root explains why in this insightful book. Most of it boils down to his 18 Republican Rules for investing. I found them "right on the money." This is great stuff- I've implemented 3 of the rules already and will try to implement the other 15 over the next year. I have all 18 Rules sitting by my bedside to study nightly. This book is a real eye-opener for Democrats. Now instead of complaining about "rich Republicans" you have an opportunity to study them and become one yourself!

This one...you want to pick up....

Wayne Root is brash. He is obviously pondering a run in politics. The title annoys me. The standing on the car thing is goofy. Now let's talk about the book. Wayne Root gets it. Ownership. It's all about ownership and moving away from government dependence. Someone finally stands up and points out the obvious about privatized Social Security. There is no choice. Realism. Does Wayne Root tell you, "Oh it's so easy becoming a millionaire....."??....no...that was all the other books. Root tells you the truth. It's hard work. It's really worth it. His early life story and rise to wealth resonate with my experience. Failure after failure and refusing to quit. Always doing what the average guy won't. He went for what he loved and he got it. That's real. I respect that in a person more than just about anything. Metaphor: His metaphor of taking 19 people out to lunch every week for the rest of your life and them expecting you to pay because you work hard and earn more money than they do...BECAUSE...you work smart and hard...is wonderful. It shows the clear divide between those who are in-dependent and those who feel they are entitled to eat off the plates of those who are independent. His discussion on taxes is well done. His analysis of the current political situation. (Crummy democratic candidates for President coming in the next few elections...vs. a generally better group of Conservative options including McCain and Rice.) I'm a Libertarian. I'm sick of the whole Red Blue thing, but Root creates a powerful argument for moving to a Red state. More jobs are being created there, more people are moving to Red and from the Blue... He points out a fascinating statistic that 81% of all counties in America voted for Bush over Kerry. I'm not really much of a Bush fan, at least not in this second term, but clearly his arguments for the RESULTS of the last election are cogent. Overall, I could have lived without the title. It's irritating to someone like me who did just fine without having a party affiliation. Nevertheless, if you had to choose.... Listen, give this book a read. It's passionate. He loves his work. He loves his wife. He loves his country. And I found the book to be persuasive. Kevin Hogan Author of The Psychology of Persuasion and The Science of Influence
