Help for all married people!

My husband and I have been married 35 yrs this yr and I think our marriage has been through it all. When we decided to share our failures with others so they might not travel the same path that we took.... we chose this book and the DVD series that goes with it. We began a small class and by the end of the 10 week session we had other couples wanting to start in our next class! Our Pastor is making this class manditory for any married couple that he is counseling. We have a very large church and a wonderful, wise, Spirit lead pastor. We thank God for this class that He has laid on our hearts. We now have three classes running per wk with 10 couples in each class. No, we do not have 100% success but this information has helped cement many couples back together. Don't wait until your marriag is ON the rocks to put your marriage ON THE ROCK!

Getting it right this time!

After being married for 40 years I divorced. I thought it was the end of my world until I met a wonderful, godly man who suggested we simultaneously read Marriage on The Rock. After reading it, discussing it, and praying about the messages and instructions in the book, I know this time I'm getting it right. Our relationship is based on biblical principles and the very Word of God. Thank you for changing my attitude, my beliefs and my very life. My prayer is that everyone married or contemplating marriage would read Marriage on The Rock and then they too would be "getting it right this time"!

Marriage ON the ROCK! - not ROCKS

Our small group purchased these couples workbooks to go along with the DVD series by the same name. The study has been very insightful about the natural differences between men and women and how they interact in a marriage. Mr. Evan's does a great job introducing, discussing, and analyzing the concepts. The questions in the workbook create discussion points to freely talk about our personal needs and wants. My wife and I really thought we knew a lot about each other after 12 years of marriage, but are finding out new and exciting things that will deepen our faith in God and each other. Our intimacy with each other is growing and strengthening. The principles are simple. Marriage on the Rock states the truth about who we are and how God created us to be within the covenant of marriage. It is a great workbook and series for newlyweds to empty-nesters.

On the rock...not on the rocks!

(Also available on CD) Married when they were both just 19 years old, Jimmy and Karen Evans were not prepared for the difficulty and struggle of forming a lifelong relationship. After several years of trying, they were ready to end it all--nearly divorcing, when instead they both opted to stay together and try to make it work. Today, more than three decades later, their own marriage relationship serves as a model for many others. Together, they are the founders of "Marriage Today" ministries, which includes a national broadcast received by millions of homes each week. After learning from his own early miscues, Jimmy Evans became a marriage counselor at a church in Texas, later transitioning to senior pastor of a large church in Amarillo. Marriage on the Rock is a Biblical prescription for building a lasting marriage union, covering essential marriage skills like problem solving and effective communication, plus tips for money management, sexual satisfaction and more. In addition, key portions of the book deal with destructive patterns and habits, revealing four kinds of destructive wives and four types of destructive husbands. Sections dealing with negative behaviors are filled with specific, direct instructions for change, often with accompanying Scriptures. There may be little here that is new or different, but the book is well-written and speaks effectively to the Evans' core market: Christian married couples who need help forming a closer, stronger and more lasting union. As such, it makes a great wedding or anniversary gift and offers constructive help to those whose marriages are struggling. Note about the reviewer: Dr. David Frisbie is executive director of The Center for Marriage & Family Studies in Del Mar, California. A frequently consulted expert on families in crisis and transition, David and wife Lisa have authored eight books and numerous articles on family life. Armchair Interviews says: Written in clear and simple language, Marriage on the Rock helps couples find a firm foundation for lasting marital satisfaction
