Men as Spiritual Leaders

I liked the way LaGard Smith took the pattern from Adam forward to today. I had many questions answered concerning the new trend of women leading spiritually and he took me step by step thru scripture. I liked the way he writes, as if he is talking to you. I would recommend this book and wish I had known about it years ago.

Male Spiritual Leadership

This is an excellent book for anyone interested in the contemporary issue of male and female roles in the Christian Church. The author has addressed head-on what is often times an emotionally charged issue for the Church with clarity of thought and a balanced perspective. The entire book from beginning to end references the Bible for its material, and clearly expresses in non-theological, everyday language its message. As one can infer from the title, Male Spiritual Leadership, the author develops the position that the Bible (and hence God Himself) teaches that men have a designated spiritual responsibility for leadership not only in the home, but in the Church. But before you decide that you've heard this argument before you should read this book if you're really interested in hearing what the Bible says about this issue. I have never read a more comprehensive summary of the accomplshments of women of faith as recorded in the Bible. Men, if you think this book will validate "dominating" behavior, you're in for a rude awakening. Women, if you think this book was written to put you in a secondary position relative to men, you're wrong and you should read the book. No one can deny that the words of the Bible have been used and abused by many for their personal goals. But I think the author clearly reveals the pattern and the principles of God's Word as it relates to roles in the Church and at the same time, clearly expresses the Gospel message that we are all one in Christ Jesus, our Savior. This was certainly an uncharacteristically "fresh read" for this topic. Read it.
