Love and adventure on the High Five Ranch

Madison Belle, the Belle daughter raised in Philadelphia is now living at the High Five Ranch in Texas. Circumstances have left her with a heart-breaking physical problem that casts a shadow on her attitude. Her life changes when she finds 3 runaways in the barn, and the oldest is pregnant. Thinking she is helping them she gives them money as she believes their sad story. Now she discovers the truth and meets Constable Walker(father to the 2 youngest),and so begins a much different chapter in her life. When Walker's ex-wife shows up very pregnant, many challenges face not only Walker and his 2 children, but also Maddie who has become a very important part of their lives. What news does his ex bring? What does she really want now from him? Is there any future for Maddie and Walker? If you haven't read this one by Linda Warren I highly suggest you obtain a copy-it is filled with many emotions that will have you sharing tears right along with Maddie, uncertainty with Walker, and the turmoil the children have faced and continue to. Yes,there is happiness also for this Belle sister too, that's another reason Linda is an auto-buy or read for me,she interweaves so much in her writing to make each book special.

Madison's Children

Madison's Children is very heart warming and heart wretching read. I think that Madison and Walker's tale is something that could happen every day. A woman who loses her ability to have chilren, and a father who struggles with the responsibilities of single parenthood. The one thing I do like about the story is that it shows Madison and Walker make a strong couple, that they do need each other, and that without the other, they aren't as strong. They are stronger together. I did enjoy reading about their struggles through their relationship, as well as the roadblocks that were cast in their way. I do recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good story showing the strenght of family.

Good story and interesting characters

A good read. Dealt with some rather heavy issues that I wasn't expecting (and which I won't spoil). The romance developed well and the characters were great. Tied up a bit too quickly, but I definitely recommend it.

enjoyable romance

In High Cotton, Texas Philadelphian Madison Belle finds two kids hiding in the barn on her family's High Five ranch. She learns from the cowhands that teenage Ginny, tweener Georgie and infant Haley are the children of local constable Walker. Although the kids want to run way to their mom Trisha in Lubbock, Madison calls Walker to retrieve his children. Already attracted to Walker, Maddie decides to assist the beleaguered single dad with his brood. The older two children have had issues since their mom ran off with Tony. As Walker falls in love with Maddie and she with him and his three offspring; their mom comes home claiming she is carrying his child. The Belles of Texas (see Caitlyn's Prize) is an enjoyable romance starring two individuals with issues to overcome. Madison is healing physically and unsure she can deal with three children in need of nurturing and mothering. Walker distrusts women since his wife deserted him and the kids. Both know the children's needs come before their desire. Although Trisha is unbelievably over the edge with the kids, fans will relish this tale as she has rights that love might not be able to overcome. Harriet Klausner
