Love & Glory

By Russ DesAulnier

A smooth collection of stories that engage the reader at once, and hold like a favorite sweater. Each with a resolution that completes the design, a suitable fit. Good to have these stories, a pleasure especially on a long flight.

-Richard Lyons, author of the novels The Edge of Things and Divisible by One, and the collection of short stories, A Wilderness of Love and Faith

Plunging compelling and credible characters into relatable situations in interesting locations is a solid recipe for entertaining fiction, and in Russ Desaulnier's eighth collection of stories he has once again provided that combination.

-Barry Lawler, author of Fish, A Tale of a Novel and Personal Skirmishes: 21 Heart Warming Misadventures, Miracle and Minor Atrocities

The stories in this fine collection spotlight the risky behaviors that define us, the emotions that hold us together or tear us apart: a couple violently disintegrates, an American woman in Japan finds solace in her imperfect existence. These unforgettable characters stand at life's lonely crossroads and muster the courage to choose their direction. Honest, compelling, and deeply moving.

-Ross West, author of The Fragile Blue Dot: Stories from Our Imperiled Biosphere

Russ Desaulnier has published more than one hundred short stories in seven collections, and I enjoyed them all. Love & Glory, his eighth collection, is just as engaging as all the others, but the last story, Of Castles in Spain, about two toreador friends, is, in my opinion, his very best. For this story alone, this collection is worth reading.

-Dan Armstrong, author of Blake College and The Eyes of Archimedes Trilogy
