Far fetched and rather dull

A rare event, I abandoned this book about 1/3 in. The plot was incredible (literally), the characters unappealing and the narration fell far short of what I expect from this author. Disappointing.

Beach Reading

This was a fun book to read. Max and Lola are on a boat, alone, together and the boat wires are melted. Throw in an island, some drug running men, and a yippy dog and you have an exciting story. I felt the characters were believable and Max was certainly a fantasy man with all the flaws and character you could ask for. I particularly liked Lola. She was smart and interesting and fun and slightly dotty. Very fun. My only comment, I'd rate this a low five or a high four. I didn't think it was as steamy as advertised.

A Pleasant Diversion

Ms. Gibson provided me with a pleasant weekend retreat. If you are looking for high concept this is not the place...yet if you like a fast and fun read this is a good bet. I don't want to spoil it for you but all I have to say is Max can use my toothbrush anytime. Also, I thought the description of Max's response to the final destruction of the Dora Mae was perfect. Why do men like to watch things be destroyed?

Were We All Reading The Same Book?

After finding out that her ex-fiance has posted her naked pictures on the internet, underwear model turned designer Lola Carlyle needs a vacation to escape the stress and embarassment. So she goes to the Bahamas with her dog, Baby Doll, and while she is sleeping on a friend's yacht it is comandeered by government agent, Max Zamora.After reading all the negative reviews, I almost didn't read this one but i'm glad I did. I did not think the heroine was stupid, and I did not think it at all unrealistic to freak out over some naked photos of her on the web. Those are pictures that someone she trusted took and she did not think they would become public. Underwear modeling is a little different than pictures becoming public that you absolutely did not want people to see. I thought Lola was a hilarious character with a quirkiness that makes her different from most heroines you read about.Lola Carlyle Reveals All is a funny, light-hearted romance that is right up there with all of this author's other books.
