The treatments he faces include multiple forms of chemotherapy, most of which end in near-death as the doctors fight against the clock. Treatments climax with a stem cell treatment in the spring of 2019, followed by two years of ongoing maintenance chemotherapy.

Through every treatment, every setback the author shares a direct, draw story of recovery as he draws strength and inspiration from his new found love, and later through running.
