A book for every small girl.

This was on the shelf when I was growing up. It had been my Mother's when she was a girl. I picked it up one night when I was about eight and fell inlove. I probably read it twenty times. I became fond of peanut butter lettuce sandwiches and Betsy's Grandmother who was so sensible and loving.My heart just leapt when I found it again.

A wonderful story about a good little witch!

This was a favorite book of mine in grade school, and I was so happy to find a copy of it online for [price]. Reading it again has been awesome! The story of Minx, the good witch who doesn't want to be bad despite the urgings of the terrible Madame Snickasee who she is forced to live with. Minx's courage and determination help her in her journey to find out who she is. A very happy ending, along with meeting some interesting characters on the way make this a magical story I highly recommend if you can find it!!

Enchanting and imaginitive

This book is really wonderful. I can't believe that there are others out there who are still commenting on it. I thought that it was just a book that I had read long ago that nobody else knew about. I love it because of the sense of wonder it conveys, as well as a little bit of fear. The reader really is gripped with fear that Minx will get caught by her hideous witch of a mother. My favorite scene is when she's trying out various potions at night. Somehow, when I was a child and came to these chapters, I thought it magical that a child would be awake all night by herself, trying to find something that she desperately hopes will release her from her family situation. I hope that I can find "Little Witch" on the internet soon!

This is a magical book great for any kid to read!

This is about a girl named minx, who is a witches daughter. Minx wants to go to school and wash herself, but she is not allowed to. Minx's mom turns kids and adults who bother her into flower pots, minx waters them and takes care of them. Minx starts playing around with her moms magic powders, and makes some new friends and makes a startling discovery. Read the book to find out more. If you like suspense and magic, this is the book for you!

This is a delicious book.

Minikin, Minx for short, is a witch's daughter, but she'd rather not be. She doesn't like making witch stews or seeing the potted plants on the windowsill that are actually children who her mother cursed. She wants to go to school and wash herself, even though her mother forbids such ideas. Minx's story is a well written great read with an interesting and surprising plot. This book is delicious.
