Carlton Burrell is from Jamaica and is a graduate of Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Working jobs throughout his time in college, Burrell returned to Jamaica to work as a civil servant. After becoming ill and being homeless, he spent many years at Goldwater Hospital and got involved in various activities.
