Book Overview

Merlyn had better things to do with her life than fall in love with Cameron Thorpe--like proving to her father that she could survive without his millions or his matchmaking schemes, and convincing herself that it didn't matter that men seemed to covet her money more than her heart.

Love it

This book although a short read captured the story nice n sweet nonetheless. Sparks definetly fly between the main charactere . Its not ur ordinary fairytale storyline. Its funny n romantic n cantegarous all in one . It the end a cherised novel to have on a bookshelf or pass on to a love one

Not bad

This books takes one of Palmer's spunkiest heroines and pairs her with a rather bland hero, so the results are not up to DP's typical 5-star rating from me. Cameron is not a bad guy, just not conflicted enough in his feelings for Merlyn (love that name, by the way!) to create much emotional or sexual tension. An unhappy ending is never even a remote possiblity for these two, so the reader has to wade through a lot of filler before they finally get around to admitting they've been crazy about each other from the start. Merlyn is a delight, however, and anyone who is a fan of Jane Eyre will love how she slips into character in her frequent teasing of Cam. I could have read a longer book with her as the main character, but with him as her partner I was not disappointed to have the story end when it did.

Very funny

A hilarious novel which had me in stitches. Merilyn has to hold down a job for a month to keep her loving but overprotective father from pushing prospective husbands at her. Merilyn takes geat delight in confusing and disconcerting the uptight but very attractive boss' son. Some very funny dialogue, especially the talking cloak room.

Humorous!

If you like an intelligent heroine who gives as good as she gets, then you will like this book. If you like sparks to fly, both in bed and in discussions, you'll find this as well. The only flaw is that the ending lacked pizazz. In my opinion, this is a keeper. But then again, I didn't like Friends and Lovers. You be the judge!
