A Beautifully Written Story

This is one of those rare books that I am sad to finish and I find myself missing the characters. Douglas Stuart's writing is beautiful. His vivid descriptions and well defined characters put me on the island among the townspeople. I found myself laughing aloud at times from the dry, witty interactions. At other times my heart ached and I was tearing up over Cal's struggles and Innes's heartache. So many emotions from such a wonderful story!
