Guess there was no sequel after all

Sondheim knits the lives of 3 young men and 2 women together in a very absorbing way. His ability to write convincingly from either gender's point of view is one of the book's best features. Another is his gift for communicating life at both extremes of society-- in the manor home and the migrant worker's tent. I highly recommend the book with one caveat: the reader will feel deprived that the author apparently never managed to complete the promised sequel (he would have been 70+ now). We come to care very much about these characters and are saddened to say good-bye to them after only one visit.

Inheritors of The Storm

I have been looking for the sequel, seems like forever, no book store seems to have any idea why the author did not write any more. The book ended just when my generation came of age. I would like to get more information on why. Any suggestions will be a big help.

INHERITORS OF THE STORM

This is probably my most favorite book. It was well written and even though I did not grow up in this time period, I find it interesting. I have spent a considerable amount of time over the years trying to find out who the author was.At the back of the book it was stated that Victor Sondheim was a pen name. If anyone has info on the real author I would like to know.He must be dead or the sequal would have been written.

Inheritors of the Storm By Victor Sondheim

I consider this my favorite book. I enjoyed reading of thedepression days, the reason for Hobo's riding the rails and learning about the Sinclair family. I would loveto read the sequels. I haveheard Victor Sondheim is a pen name. Is there any wayto find his real name and ifhe is still with us? Betty Lou Laveen

This is a GREAT book.

A saga of the Sinclair family from Iowa, this book was supposedly the first of what was to be a trilogy. But, apparently the author never finished but the one book. I wish he would have done at least one more; this one starts in the late 20's and ends just before World War II. If you see Mr. Sondheim, tell him to write at least one more book. If he is dead, please ask someone to take up the task.
