Beautifully presented, "In The Pond" is entertaining and informative

Expertly designed by Laura Parker, "In The Pond" is an enthusiastically recommended picturebook for young readers in which Mat Russell's superbly executed artwork is a perfect showcase for Anna Milbourne's simply story about the life cycle of a frog. "In The Pond" begins with a little cluster of jelly eggs floating in a quite duck pond. Then each little egg becomes a tadpole. But tadpoles have hungry enemies and must work hard to survive. Eventually those that succeed in avoiding predator fish and birds will become frogs. And when frogs create little clusters of jelly eggs, the cycle starts all over again. Beautifully presented, "In The Pond" is entertaining and informative making it a welcome and popular addition to both school and community library picturebook collections for young readers.
