And if there were comment cards to be sent to authors after you read their books, mine to Jo Leigh about HUSH would say "thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me a story with smoking characters, amusing situations, and hot, hot sex!" Just for the record, I don't always read Blaze romances, and I don't always have to have "whoa baby!" romance in a book to enjoy it. But HUSH has it, I enjoyed it, and I refuse to be ashamed! The first in the DO NOT DISTURB continuity series, HUSH is a story filled with guilty pleasures, uninhibited desires, and the shameless desire to do whatever feels good. In other words, it's like a glass of red wine drunk in front of a roaring fire, or that entire carton of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Monkey that you ate standing in front of the open freezer. A pure, unadulterated delight. To the world, Piper Devon is Paris Hilton, Tara Reid, and all those other "celebrities gone crazy" young twenty-somethings that do what they want, when they want, and never worry about the consequences. Piper, the daughter of multi-billionaire Nicholas Devon, hotel magnate, displays all the qualities of a rich-girl, spoiled heiress. What no one seems to realize is that her enrollment in NYU in hotel management, followed by the opening of her very own hotel, is more than just a whim. Piper wants something new, distinctive, erotic-something that will have nothing to do with her father, his money, or his hotels. So she opens Hush, a hotel that she has no qualms in showing off as a showcase to the young, the wealthy, the opulent, the horny. Hush oozes sex, urges its occupants to leave their inhibitions at home, and answers to your every desire. You can be, do, and have anything you want at Hush, which is Piper's plan. The only thing she didn't prepare for is how much she wants approval-from her father, for being a good businesswoman; from the media, for being something other than the spoiled little rich girl; from Trace Winslow, the man who has made it his business to stop Hush from succeeding to save the Devon family name. Trace and Piper have a past of sorts-she wanted him, he thought she was a bratty child and turned her away. This time around, Piper plans to make it clear as day, that she's all grown-up and knows exactly what she wants-Trace in her bed every evening in the suite she calls home at Hush. When the sheets ignite and tempers flare with this couple, you won't be able to outrun the fire. HUSH is Harlequin Blaze at its best. A new, unique story line, compelling characters, witty dialogue, and steaming sexual tension, Jo Leigh has written a winner. I can't wait to pick up THRILL ME by Isabel Sharpe, the next book in the DO NOT DISTURB series. Thanks, Ms. Leigh, for a totally fun, exciting, and hot story!

Is Piper Devon really Paris Hilton a few years from now???

I could not get the image out of my head that Piper is Paris Hilton. Granted, it may be a few years down the road. Somehow, I had a new respect for Paris after I read this book. A quick, sexy, passionate read. I wish there really were a Hush hotel. I plan to read the whole series! Part of a Harlequin Blaze series, "Do Not Disturb": Hush by Jo Leigh (April 2005), Thrill Me by Isabel Sharpe (June 2005), Kiss & Make Up by Alison Kent (August 2005), Private Relations by Nancy Warren (October 2005), 'Not yet titled' by Debbie Rawlins (December 2005), 'Not yet titled' by Jill Shalvis (February 2006)

Do Not Disturb... until I'm done reading

Piper Devon's new venture, Hush Hotel, is sure to make her father upset, and the fans wild. This wild daughter grew up amid Devon's hotel empire, so she knows what it takes to make a first class hotel. Her version, Hush, offers sensual promise and sex toys in every room. Trace Winslow works as an attorney for Piper's conservative father, and although he turned Piper down once, he's certain not to make the same mistake again. If only he could get over her bad girl image, in which she seems to revel. Someone's got to check up on Piper, and it might as well be the family attorney. Only when Trace gets to Hush, he finds he's in deeper than he bargained, and he aches to put that "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. I read the second book in this series, Thrill Me, first, and loved it so much I had to pick up the first. (I also have the third, Kiss & Make Up out this month from Harlequin as well). I loved this story of how these two people came together. In spite of her "Paris Hilton-esque" relationship with the tabloids, I found Piper to be a strong, determined woman ready to go after her dreams. Trace was a man with regrets, and the biggest one wasn't his near-miss in bedding sultry Piper. These very real, very vivid characters came off the page with me, and I found myself cheering for Piper as she struggled to make her dream a reality. Although all the books take place in the hotel, they are easily stand-alone reads, which make them easy to catch in any order. However, Hush is still out, so you won't want to miss your chance to own this keeper of a book. Clearly, one of the best Harlequin Blaze's I've read. Oh, and I loved Dash Black's cameo (from Ms. Leigh's Dash of Temptation, another great read!)
