Excellent little book for people who don't understand the concept of "forgiveness". I've used this book with people for years. It's a shame it's out of print.
The Key to Peace

I have read this book over ten times. It awakened me to the power of forgiveness. The book starts off with a definition that says forgiveness is completed when the memory of the incident no longer carries an emotional charge. The book explains all the myths of forgiveness, myths that many people believe are true. I learned that "holding resentment requires energy that would produce more joy if directed elsewhere." The redirection of this energy has been found to diminish serious health problems. Forgiveness affirms, strengthens, and frees us from the hatred that eats away at our bodies. To help the reader understand this there are many forgiveness stories. The authors explain the stages of forgiveness as well as some processes for forgiving. Before I read this book I didn't know any of this. To me forgiveness was just a compromise to end a fight. And where deep wounds are concerned forgiveness was never in the picture. If you think the way I used to I recommend that you read this book. It is short, clear, concise, and easily understandable. The book will bring joy to your life and the lives of the people around you as it did to me. Read it, again and again.
