Introducing Kids to Bible Characters

This is a light-hearted, fun-to-read book that tells the story of Noah building the ark in an interesting, and enjoyable way. Young children of all faiths will love the many playful, colorful illustrations that grace every page of the book as well as the way the entire story is told in rhyme. (Neat!) This is a great book for children who are just learning about the bible & the heroes therein. I give the book 5 out of 5 stars. It's a HIT in my opinion! Simply a delightful little story book! :-)

Great Retelling of Noahs Ark for Children

How Noah Knew What to Do is a really good rendition of the story of Noah. Throughtout the book is the lesson of how Noah even though he may have doubted he still trusted Gods word and was rewarded. The illustrations are adorable and we spent extra time looking at the pictures and discussing each page before moving on to the next one. We really enjoyed this book and even shared it with my sons pre-school class much to their delight. 5 stars for story, illustraions & Gods positive message & promise.

This book is adorable!

This is a super cute rhyming story of how Noah built his ark, despite being a "farmer who has never held a hammer." The rhyming style reminds me a bit of the style of Dr. Seuss and the illustrations are colorfully bright and cheery. I have found no scriptural inaccuracies at all, and am looking forward to the possibility of more stories like this from the author. (Perhaps stories on some of the other "big names" of the Old and New Testament like Daniel or Joseph, Paul, Jesus?!) I would love to see this as the beginning of a series! The only thing I don't like about this book is the little water simulated gel pack on the front cover. I just *know* my daughter is going to stick something sharp in it and pop it, so I need to be on special alert with this book, but other than that, it is a fantastic little book.

What an excellent book for the kids!

I love this book! My kids also loved the book! Let me point out some praises for the book. 1. The book is fun. The Noah's story is written in such a way that when it is read, it feels like you are singing due to rhymes. 2. While the book is fun, it also teaches the children that with God's help and love, one can accomplish great things -- even the things that seem impossible. The book teaches to overcome doubts by trusting in God's love and friendship. 3. The illustration is real cute. My kids all loved the illustrations. They point out their favorite animals in the book and notice funny expressions. 4. The last page of the book includes the discussion questions for children. So the parents can actually teach their children that with God's gracious help, the children can do mighty things just like Noah. 5. The hardcover book is tightly stitched to the spine, so it will not come lose. Overall, this is an excellent book for the children! Highly recommended!

Interesting spin on a classic Bible story!

I help write curriculum for our church's Sunday School program, so I'm always on the lookout for new religious picture books. "How Noah Knew What To Do" is definitely a good one! Told in rhyming verse with cartoon-like pictures on every page, this book flows nicely and will be sure to keep preschool aged children entertained. More importantly, it offers a different focus than most simple retellings of the Noah story: just how did Noah feel about being asked to do something as insurmountable as build an ark, anyway? Author Moore does a great job of looking deeper into the Noah story. She talks about Noah's willingness to accept God's call, his doubts about his own abilities, and his faith that God would help him know what to do... all in a way so simple that even a preschooler could understand! A great resource for any discussion about trusting God and his plans for our lives!
