Like the first volume, the series assumes that poetry itself is a way of helping us interpret life - its purpose, its design, the opportunities it offers us to make sense of what we often take for granted, the invitation to reach out to others in our journey of faith and life.

Much of the focus of the poetry is the ordinary, especially the surprising, everyday moments of joy and kindness that help us acknowledge the purposes of life - to celebrate the everyday, to find nourishment in the unexpected, to open ourselves to fragility as well as richness, to rejoice in the gifts of life and the mystery of it all.
