Useful Bible for any recovery

Any human searching for their true purpose will find the meaning of life and purpose in this book!

What a surprise!

I had no idea such a type of Bible existed until I ran across them at a Christian Book store yesterday. My son and my nephew were glued to them in the car all the way home. They said that they thought the Bibles were so awesome and they didn't realize that being a Christian could be "cool". Then they found out that Christian music can be cool too.... they thought this kind of life was going to be boring! Boy were they surprised!

Recovery Bible Review

As a hospital chaplain working largely with Dual Diagnosis patients I find the Recovery very helpful. Very important is that the book gives Bible references for each of the 12 steps in the "12 Step Program". Then, there are many very helpful articles throughout the book helping the patients apply Scriptural principles to their problems.

Good choice for people who write study notes in their Bible

The Notemaker's Bible is basically a standard New Living Translation (1996) text Bible with one major difference. It has eight blank lines at the bottom of each page and wide margins on the outer side of the page so it is easy to make notes right on the page. This gives you an opportunity to create your own study Bible with the things that are important to you, to journalize your thoughts as you read, or anything else that might be important to you. The front matter of the Bible also includes the Tyndale Bible Verse Finder which is basically a concise topical index helping you locate a verse not by words it contains but by the subject of the verse. If you like to be able to write notes in your Bible and never really had the room for all the comments you wanted to make then you should take a look at the Notemaker's Bible. It may be just what you need.

A God-Send For Insights Into Life And Healing

I started reading bibles in depth 3 years ago, and I have purchased just about every translation and study bible in print. I was looking for God, for healing, for insights into what it really means to be a Christian, how to find release from the bondage of addictions and idolatry of any sort, and how to grow spiritually.I purchased this bible in August 2002. Since then, I have found answers in it that no amount of personal or group bible study using other bibles, Christian radio, professional counseling by therapists or pastors, church attendance, or prayer have given me.Almost every page has foot-notes, devotionals, in-depth comments, which teach about addictions and how to gain freedom, details about the road to recovery, all within a Christ-centered framework using the 12 Alcoholics Anonymous steps. You can look up just about any life-experience topic in the excellently organized index/concordance in the back of the Bible, to focus on passages which help you understand who you are, what you do, why you do it, and ways to gain release from whatever plagues you, and get closer to God in order to gain peace and restoration.I have abandoned all my other bibles in favor of this one. I would urge anyone who needs help in self-control, discipline, overcoming compulsive/obsessive behaviors, to dig into the Life Recovery Bible. You will be blessed abundantly. If you simply want to grow spiritually, and you have no addictions, this bible is also for you.Every day I can look forward to new insights and teachings in this bible, which I can apply immediately to my life. The text is easy to read for such a large Bible, the NLT translation is easy to understand, and the footnotes and other devotionals do not interfere with my enjoyment of every page. There is another Life Recovery Bible in the NIV (New International Version), which in my opinion is not nearly as good as this one.

I Love This Bible

There are a couple of the things I love about this Bible and the first thing is how easy the New Living Translation is to understand. It brings me closer to the Lord every time I read it. The other thing I love is the format - it's not two columns of text like most Bibles, but it's like a regular book. It's much easier to read and not as distracting as two columns. This is my favorite Bible!
