Although breast care is a wide remit, the information in this book is clear and readable for the more junior nurses yet contains enough factual detail to be useful to the more experienced nurse. There is a chapter for each of the aspects of breast care so that the enquiring nurse can access the relevant subject. The chapters are stand alone, but have some common themes running through them, including illustrative case histories, practical nursing care, psychological and social care and appropriate complimentary therapies. The book is woman centred andabout holistic care, rather than compartmentalising care for each breast condition. This reflects the theme of total care that the hospital and the community should offer the woman who suffers from a breast condition. Care for such women does not just begin and end in hospital, but rather it is ongoing, and the book highlights this.
