A BIT OF DELAYED ACTION -

Homicide detective Jake Delancy at 34 is happy with his life. He had raised 3 younger brothers and put them through college and now had his own small ranch and no more responsibilities. He was not going to get married until he could retire. Rebecca Bolen served on a jury that found the defendant, Lenny Meskell, a harden criminal, guilty of murder. Meskell threatened Rebecca and Jake took a slug at him so that Meskell marked them both for revenge. Captain Detective Richard Vance assigned Jake to protect Rebecca when 2 months later Meskell is loose and armed and dangerous. Jake would have to spend the next week or so with Rebecca and her two daughters, Tara and Sissy until Meskell was caught. The two little girls were still sad at the death of their father, Dan, a firefighter. Rebecca swore she would not fall for another man who put his life on the line of duty. A cop was as bad as a firefighter. Dan had been a loving husband and a wonderful father. Yet these two struck sparks off one another. It all started with a few kisses and that was all she wrote. Meskell is stalking Rebecca and determined to take out the cop. Neat plot - good action - dark enough for tension - A man who found that he was missing family life - A woman with many reservations yet strong enough to change. And two little sweethearts of daughters to win your heart. Definitely recommended --m - hormones abound - PMS is a given, huh?
