FUN read! :)

At sixteen, Dakota Dunn was America's Pop Princess. Now twenty-five, she's all grown up. She decides to head to her parents' lakefront retreat in Tennessee, fixing to write songs and transform her image from squeaky clean to kickin' country. Turns out her folks have handed things over to sexy and cranky cowboy Trace Coleman -- a former bull riding champion benched by injuries. He's none too happy about Dakota's arrival and makes no secret of it. But though Trace is rough around the edges, Dakota feels a pull of attraction she can't quite shake. For all his brooding, Trace has an animal magnetism that may just lead Dakota to dig in her heels and hold on tight... LuAnn McLane has brought southern charm and personality in all of the books that I've read by her. I found myself laughing out loud many times in this book -- she has a way of bringing so much humor into her stories and putting a smile on your face. This was definitely a book that I couldn't put down, and you won't either! :)

Teen Adol meets Bull riding champion

I really loved this book a fun modern southern romance. Dakota Dunn left the south for her music career when she was teenager. She became America's Pop Princess now she is out of money and she is too old to be a teen-Adol. Her agent suggests she go home to Tennessee and working reinventing herself as Country Singer. When she get home to her only asset a fishing camp she find the Ex-bull riding champion hunk Trace Coleman a great inspiration. Fun, romantic, heated, great secondary characters, Enjoy! If you enjoy this genre I would also suggest; Truly, Madly: A Novel, Falling For Gracie and Red's Hot Honky-Tonk Bar.

5 Hearts from TRS!

"I loved all the aspects of this story. It was truly a great romance, with the imperfect people and the fairy tale romantic sacrifices people make in the name of love. Dakota was such a real personality, with southern charm and genuine niceness even though she left her roots to chase her dream. I loved reading about her life and how she was ready to make changes just for herself for a change. Trace is such a likable hero. He's certainly not perfect and has problems from his own washed up career. Together they teach each about what is really important in life and learn that lesson for themselves as they get to know each other. I really liked how the book was written so we get the perspective from the different characters. Sierra and Grady make great secondary characters and add to the humor of the story. This book made me laugh out loud at the antics, sigh at the intense romance developing between the characters, and warmed my heart at the friendships developing between all of them." - Lisa Freeman

He's No Prince Charming is wonderful

He's No Prince Charming by LuAnn McLane is another sexy southern charm of a story. Dakota Dunn was America's Teen Pop princess. She had the world at her fingertips and was living the high life. But that was when she was sixteen, now she is 25 and has lost her direction. She heads home to Tenn. back to her families marina and fishing retreat. Dakota is hoping the quiet country setting will rejuvenate her and kick start her song writing. Trace Coleman a former bull-riding champion who had to retire do to injuries. He has been managing the marina, etc for the Dunn family for the last couple of years. He isn't happy that Dakota Dunn the actual owner is back in town. Trace likes things as they have been, quiet and serene. Dakota Dunn sure isn't either of those things. Dakota finds herself drawn to sexy Trace. Though he is a brooding man, there is something about him that Dakota finds intriguing. Even when she tries to give Trace some space she finds herself in another pickle that Trace is there again to witness. Trace has been licking his wounds since his injury. Even his close friends in town haven't been able to get him out of his shell. But this feisty Dakota has him running all over town trying to keep her safe. He's No Prince Charming is a fun filled sexy ride. Dakota and Trace both have major package to work through but they do it with southern flair. The secondary romance of Grady and Sierra is a delight as well. LuAnn McLane does southern romance with flair and delicious sexy appeal. You can't go wrong with reading this book.

Great, funny and sexy

"He's no prince charming" by LuAnn McLane is another hit. It's fun, sexy, full of great characters and just very enjoyable. Dakota Dunn, former pop princess, is in need of an image remake in order to keep her career alive. So she returns to a marina in Tennessee which she owns and which holds many good childhood memories. There she meets Trace Coleman, a former bull-riding champion who know works for Dakota. The marina is all Trace has after he was badly hurt while bull-riding and he is not really happy to see Dakota because he doesn't want anything to change. But Dakota is there to stay and work on her career, meaning become more of a country singer. Trace and Dakota are attracted right from the start but both are unsure what to do about it and especially Trace is not ready to get in a relationship. When Dakota meets Sierra and Grady, two other people who work for her, things get even more interesting and along the journy Dakota not only finds a brooding man to hold one but also great friends and a new career. LuAnn McLane has become one of my favourite authors and books like "He's no prince charming" are the reason for it. Dakota and Trace are just great, they had it all (fame, money and so on) but now must build a new life. I love how they both work hard on taking their new chances and the scenes between them are just so good, sexy as hell and funny. Trace is sort of a wounded hero who needs to learn anew to have fun and let go of all the brooding (I just love these kind of heroes). Dakota and Sierra help each other a lot and I'm a sucker not only for romaces but also for friendships so I enjoyed reading about them tremendously. Seeing Sierra bloom under Dakotas influence and finally convincing Grady that she is definitely not one of the boys is another highlight of the book. I also love how Dakota learns from Sierra how to be more of a country girl and starts to enjoy life and her work once again. Hope you'll enjoy "He's no prince charming" just as much as I did and by the way the cover (oh la la) fits the book just perfectly.
