Hedgehoghaven: Or "A Yank & His Dog in England"

By Hells Lefse

What happens when an American, his remarkable dog, and an old English inheritance collide with a village that would rather stay in the past?

Welcome to Hedgehoghaven, a secluded village tucked away in Longhall County, England, where the modern world seems to have passed by-and where the residents are perfectly happy to keep it that way.

Our guide is Tesse, a white-and-tan Shih Tzu with an extraordinary secret: she can read, write, understand humans, and communicate with her human companion, Ole. From Tesse's canine perspective, readers follow Ole and his four-legged companion as an unexpected inheritance changes their lives forever.

Ole is an American who inherits not only the Poachers Rest, but Longhall County, the village of Hedgehoghaven, Longhall Manor, and the Hedgehoghaven Railway from his great-grandfather. There is just one condition: he must move permanently to England and become the new Lord of Longhall County.

Their journey takes them aboard the eccentric Hedgehoghaven Railway, through the English countryside and into a community filled with colorful characters, unusual businesses, steam locomotives, quirky traditions, and surprises around every corner.

Along the way, Tesse encounters everything from a hedgehog named Current to things Ole insists cannot possibly be real.
Hedgehoghaven is a whimsical, humorous journey into an English village where the past refuses to disappear-and where a man, his dog, and an unforgettable community discover what it means to find a new home.
