opinionated author, a delightful read

Frank Robb, the author of "Handling Small Boats in Heavy Weather," is not afraid to speak his mind in his delightful little book. Mr. Robb covers such important topics as Wind, Waves, Boat Design, Shortening Sail, Storm Gear, Sea Anchors, etc. These are all topics worthy of studying, but Mr. Robb's somewhat dry humor make the book a pure delight. His love of the sea shines through his writing and he keeps the reader amused as he gives sage advice. My only complaint would be that I wish he had reprinted the book recently to take into account more modern equipment. Still, this is an excellent read.
