At present this book is in my to read library, because I have several others to read first

Skip at all costs

I love Ringo's Posleen and Troy Rising series. This however is total garbage. The "story" is completely incoherent with no clear point. It seems like it was written during a Manic episode, or under the influence of Meth and/or Cocaine. It's frenetic, jumping between unrelated events, with no actual plot flow to ground it. The main character is one-dimensional and completely unbelievable. He is repeatedly described as the most capable person in the history of humanity in multiple unrelated fields, and defeats any opposition with absolutely no effort. The book feels like an impossibly arrogant self-assessment of the author, thinly disguised in the MHI universe. This in no way affects my view of Larry Correia's MHI series. That is unquestionably amazing. Do yourself a favor and read the entire thing now if you haven't already. John, get some professional help and return to the amazing writing you've shown you're capable of producing.
