as good as Good Night Moon

Being from Hawaii and having lived on the mainland for 3 years, i was very happy to get this book. Its very well written, the CD is well made with a soft voice preparing child for bed and wonderful illustrations. I loved it so much, ordered one for another family member.

Beautiful Hawaiian Book

Ok I have to admit, I may love this book more than my daughter. The book is extremely soothing from the breezy narrator, to the calming the Hawaiian music, and background sounds. The artistry is also captivating. I feel like I take a mini trip to Hawaii everytime we read/listen to it. My daughter is still a toddler so I think as she gets older she will enjoy it more.

Good souvenir, better than "All I got was this lousy t-shirt"

If you are looking for a present to bring home to some younger children this is a very good choice. Book and a cd too! Beautiful illustrations. Packs easily in your suitcase for the trip home.

My kids ask for this book every night

My almost 2-year old and almost 4-year old haven't been to Hawaii yet, but they love this book. We used to read them the classic "Goodnight Moon" book, but they grew bored with that and this book seemed a natural next step. Even my younger one tries to read along--he loves that the phrases rhyme. The illustrations are really beautiful and show sea turtles, geckos, hibiscus, hermit crabs, nene, "surf dogs," kittens dancing hula, tiki torches, horses, and more. My kids especially love that there's a CD that accompanies the book, with a Hawaiian lullaby sung at the end. They actually sing parts of the lullaby throughout the day, in Hawaiian. The voice on the CD is very soothing and is perfect for calming them down before bed.
