Golf from the Ground Up

golf instruction

This was a terrific instruction book. I've read and reread the book gaining insight into the basics of the golf swing. There were plenty of drills to aid you in learning the different aspects of the golf swing.Prior to this book I had never heard of "footwork" in the golf swing let alone how to perform the footwork in your swing. Great book!!!!

Great for more than just beginners

Just got a thank you call from my cousin, to whom I gave this book. He couldn't say enough good things about it. He is a pretty advanced player and read this book after being off the course for almost 3 months. He played a round yesterday and felt that not only had it helped his game, but had enjoyed himself more than he had for quite some time.

A top pick for anyone who wants to master the game of golf

If you don't have the foundation, what are you going to build on? "Golf From the Ground Up: A New Focus on Fundamentals from a Master Teaching Pro" is a guide to mastering the most basic of golf skills to give the aspiring pro golfer the techniques they need and how to avoid most of the bad habits that bring many rookie players down. "Golf From the Ground Up" is a top pick for anyone who wants to master the game of golf.

Great Book

This is a great book for the beginning golfer. You will not learn how to shape shots and there are no glossy pictures covering both sides of the pages. The first chapter talks about the learning process and muscle memory. The second chapter the author talks about his platform. It has 7 sections; Grip Stance Footwork Rotation Ball Position Alignment Pre-Shot Routine This chapter alone is worth the price of the book. That is more pertinent information than the typical instruction book out there. The author also has a detailed chapter on the swing as a whole. With his keypoint being, weight on the front foot before downswing begins. The last chapter is a unique section on the slice. I guarantee it is unlike anything you have read in other manuals. The author finishes the book off with some information on Hogan's book. Which I found helpful, since I started off trying to emulate Hogan's swing.
