God in the Hands of Angry Sinners

By Michael Collins

What kind of person is your image of God making you become?

Throughout history, people have imagined God in countless ways: as judge, king, protector, provider, liberator, healer, restorer, and love itself. Each image has inspired faith, shaped communities, offered comfort, and given meaning to life. Each has also formed the hearts of those who worship through it.

But what if the most important question is not simply Who is God?
What if it is:

Who am I becoming because of the God I worship?

In God in the Hands of Angry Sinners, Michael Collins invites readers on a contemplative journey through the many images by which human beings have encountered the divine. Rather than arguing for one image against another, he explores what each reveals, what each conceals, and the kind of soul each tends to form.

Written from a Christian perspective yet open to readers from every background, this book is neither a defense of certainty nor a call to abandon faith. It is an invitation to hold our deepest convictions with humility, gratitude, and wonder.

Whether you consider yourself deeply religious, spiritually curious, deconstructing old beliefs, or simply searching for a life rooted in truth, beauty, and love, this book offers a gentle question that belongs to us all:

We become like what we worship.

The journey begins by asking what image of God you carry.
It ends by discovering a Love greater than every image.
