Wow, I want my own Gabe!

I stumbled across the Buckhorn Brothers books while looking for Erin McCarthy books (which are great, too, by the way). I ordered all four at one time, and for some reason they're taking several weeks to ship. But they shipped Gabe early, and am I ever glad! I debated waiting for the rest so I could read them in order, but after peaking inside, I had to read Gabe right away. Even though I sometimes roll my eyes at the cheesy perfect-ness of the men in romance novels (and Gabe is pretty much perfect), I have to admit I'm a sucker for these stories. Gabe is really too good to be true. He's one of those super-charming men who really loves and appreciates women. I usually find men like that are raised in households with sisters or by single mothers or grandmas, not like the testosterone-filled Hudson/Kasper house. Anyway, this story was just really sexy. I like that Gabe falls for a shy, bookish, average-looking girl like Lizzy, and not a bombshell. He even wonders himself why he's falling for someone so against his type. Of course by the end of the book, he thinks Lizzy is beautiful. Lizzy is a little unbelievable in her naiveté, but it makes for a good story when Gabe gets to introduce her to all sorts of new experiences. The book doesn't really have a plot, and the romance happens in record time, but it doesn't matter. The story is written well enough that you just go with it. Even though these are re-issued older books, nothing in the Gabe book was at all dated. It could have been set today or any time in the past ten years. I'm looking forward to reading the other three brothers' stories, and then the new story about Casey that's coming out soon. I doubt they can top this one, though!

Warning - This series is addictive - off to read book 4!

This series is fantastic you have four handsome, intelligent, real honest men who love women. The underline theme is that good men do exist. Each brother gets his own book and each fall in love even though they don't want to.... Buy the whole series, get glass of favorite beverage and they will leave with a smile! Buckhorn Brothers Series Sawyer (Book 1), Morgan (Book 2), Gabe (Book 3),Jordan (Book 4) and Casey (Book 5 published in 2002),

Gabe is great!

The Buckhorn brothers by Lori Foster has been an exciting series, and readers like me have been anxiously awaiting each story of the 4 brothers. "Gabe" is #3 and the youngest brother. He is described as being a "heartthrob". He likes women and they like him. He is also does not have a regular job, but is a handyman. Don't let this turn you off, as he is very appealing ,as he is caring and sensitive. One day, Elizabeth comes to town wanting to interview him for a heroic rescue he did. She shows little interest in him at first, and that intrigues him. He also suspects (rightly) that there is more to her interest in writing about heroic rescues than what she is letting on. They fall in love as he attempts to get to know her better. Lori Foster knows how to put some humor in a book without it appearing to be forced. The result is that I smiled as I read the book. You will too. This is another winner by Lori Foster.

Sexy, humorous and downright fun!

This third offering in Lori Foster Buckhorn Brothers series, GABE, is everything Ms. Foster's fans have come to expect. Sexy, humorous and downright fun! While it took me longer to warm up to Gabe, than it did for me to fall for Sawyer and Morgan, he's definitely not a brother to miss. Women have fallen at his feet since he was young, so he definitely needs a different type of heroine to make him fall, and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Parks fills the bill very nicely. Prim and proper, she couldn't be more an antithesis to Gabe's laid back personality and life style if she tried. GABE is a fast and sexy romance, and Gabe himself reminds me of the over indulged Regency Rakes we all know and love. He doesn't realize he's looking for love, until it slaps him up side his head, and then, my oh my, pray for anyone who gets between him and his hearts desire, even if it's his brother. For a thoroughly enjoyable romance sure to set your pulses racing, don't miss GABE, or any of the Buckhorn brothers...

Hurry and buy this book!

I loved this book! Gabe Kasper is the youngest of the Buckthorn brothers and easily my favorite. A handyman who is used to lolling around on the lake and charming the ladies, he meets his match in stubborn, red-head Elizabeth Parks. Elizabeth is seemingly immune to Gabe's charm. She is much more interested in her pet project: discovering what makes a hero tick. Gabe is the last hero she needs to interview and the most difficult: he denies that he even is a hero. Well, what's a girl to do except agree to Gabe's outrageous demand of kisses in return for an interview? Not only is this book classic Lori Foster, including humor, sensitivity and (a whole lot) of senduality, it is also very tender. It's amazing to discover that not only is this book the most tender of the series, but also the most sensual (IMHO). Wonderful to see such a great balance struck between the two. If you've liked the series so far, after you read Gabe, you won't just like it...you will absolutely fall in love with it. Trust me, I just hope I can hunt up my own Gabe! Happy reading!
