Forged In Christ

In today's world, there is a radical call for each of us to dive deep into relationship with Christ. As we navigate the bombardment of complexity and comfort, our souls echo the demand from Christ to pick up our crosses and follow Him. Following the Catechism's call for every man over the course of their lives to show forth the image of God and to be transformed into the image of the Father's only Son, we explore how exactly to become this full gift of ourselves to both God and our families by pushing out of our comfort zone, entering into suffering, and exploring the depths of our souls in order to gain command over and submit both our intellect and will. In no greater setting does this take place than in the family, the cornerstone of civilization. In each of our domestic churches, we are challenged daily to imitate this image of the Crucified Christ by dying to ourselves and becoming a gift to the others, replicating the Trinitarian love of God. I ask you to enter into this mystery with me as I reflect on how Christ forged me first through endurance racing and then through marriage and family life and how He is challenging you to do the same.
