Fit for Life II

Very good and an execellent follow up on Harvey's first book. Adds exercise and use of a rebounder (trampoline). His followup book, Fit for Life, a New Beginning is execellent also and a recommended read.

Detractors haven't tried it. Fruit's Not a Fad.

The negative reviews seem to be all the same and don't seem to have tried it and maybe even haven't read it. There's nothing unhealthy about eating fruit in the morning. Eating anything you want after noon is hardly a fad diet. The book just suggests eating things separately like a big steak and greens rather than adding a bunch of fillers like potatoes. It suggests eating all the starches you want but just not with the steak as it complicates the digestion process. I like to eat that way anyway. Give me more meat and less potatoes any day! The book suggests exercise. That's not a fad. It's just common sense. The book suggests not drinking coffee. If you eat fruit, you can really pound the coffee and still come out feeling good. I like Fast Food Friday's more than most but eating more sensibly is nothing but a positive. If you are a runner or some other athlete and have plateaued, you should consider their suggestions. You won't hit the wall so easy if you eat the fruit.

The best mass-marketed health book ever written

Please don't let mainstream detractors who are steeped in the ways of medicine and other failure-ridden institutions dissuade you from reading this life-saving book. It was written from the standpoint of common sense and self-evident truths, which naturally does not always align with the effluvia that is forthcoming from what passes for "science" these days, since the latter is hopelessly corrupted by commercial and other financial interests. The answers lie in our deep and ancient history as living creatures on this planet. It simply has to be true that nature set it up for living beings to be able to heal from disease and injury on their own, as long as the cause of said disease or injury is removed. Therefore, removal of cause is the only way to true healing. This blatantly obvious fact is not acknowledged by medicine and is, in fact, venomously opposed by that quarter for the simple reason that if everyone accepted it, medicine would no longer exist. Harvey Diamond will tell you how to remove the causes of your physical ills. He's done all the footwork for you, all you need to do is learn from him and put what you learn into practice. The sooner you do, the sooner you will start enjoying your life again. I've been following his principles for almost 5 years and I have reached a level of health and vitality I never imagined possible (for more info please visit www.RawSchool.com).

Afterwards you'll know how to get and stay healthy, for real

I'd like to start by saying that I think everyone should read Fit for Life first and then Fit for Life 2 - Living Health. This second books summarizes well the facts illustrated in the first book, but you will get a much better picture if you start with the first book. Also, it will probably be hard for most people to make a lot of changes in their lifestyle together, while it will definitely be easier to somewhat change your eating habits first and then expand your healthy habits adopting some (or all) of the suggestions you'll find in this 2nd book. This book is not only about losing weight, as a thin person is not necessarily healthy. It's not just about looking good, it's about feeling good and treating your body how it deserves and then seeing the results on the outside, as well. This book gives a very good understanding of how everybody, no matter their age, can be healthy and feel great and have a better life, and it explains it all very simply, so everyone can read it and understand it.I also found that the recipes in this book are much better than the ones in the first book. A few days ago I made "ice cream" using frozen mango, bananas and strawberries and my whole family loved it! Only afterwards I told my husband that there was no milk nor any sugar added, and he could not believe it! My husband is also starting to get over the common view that "healthy things don't taste good", and believe me, I am a picky cook. I am Italian, I love cooking and I was always convinced that a meal should leave one satisfied. And the book really gives you the awarness you need that WE ALL NEED to do something to keep healthy, because IT'S WORTH IT! Now I am eating well (that means I am eating healthy but I am also satisfied about my meals), I have enough energy to take care of my house, my 2 years old daughter and my numerous hobbies, and exercise, I am feeling better than I had in the long time and I am losing weight! What can one ask for more?

I tried the diet and loved it.

I borrowed the fit for life book from a friend and although I did not follow their particular diet I followed the principle. It does work. I also told a friend about it and told her to try it for 1 week to see if it would work for her and she was convinced. I also exercised everyday which is a big aid in losing weight. Although I have been off of it for a while I plan to start following it again. I still ate all my favorite foods but was careful as to what to put together and at what time of day. If I wanted something sweet then I would eat something sweet but only in moderation. All diets do not work for everyone but this one worked for me. I still say do whatever works for that individual. But regardless of what you do please do some form of exercise.
