Archaeology student Sibyl Johnson, Miami cop Charlie Flynn, and former commando Logan McKee are transported back in time to the height of the Roman Empire. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I first read "The Far Edge of Darkness" shortly after it appeared. I had much on my plate and didn't worry about the sequel. I recently picked up my copy for a reread and enjoyed it much more than the first time. The development of characters was outstanding. The technique of switching between locales/character to weave an integrated whole and story required the reader to become involved. I'm very disappointed the sequel has not appeared, I searched for it. -- This eighty-year-old hopes he'll be able to read the sequel. I'm well aware of problems authors may run into when writing anything and hope Linda Evans can somehow make it back to this story.
Great and available for free online from author/publisher!

An excellent adventure and the character development and time travel are handled very well. I finished it in one sitting..it is that gripping! My only complaint is that that the promised sequel has never appeared. I don't hold this against the author though. It would be hard to condemn anyone capable of such a superb book. I only wish I could read the rest of this! Even if the story is never finished, I am still glad to have read it. I have hopes of someday seeing the rest of it...please don't let us down Linda! This book is available for free download (with many other great books) at BAEN's free online library in a variety of ebook formats at http://www.baen.com/library/ but there is no sequel I have been able to find anywhere yet.
What happened to the rest?

I bought this when it first came out and loved it. I've always been fascinated by time travel stories. I anxiously awaited the two books that were to complete this 'trilogy' but they never materialized. Will we ever see them? I hope so, if they're as good as the first one was.
Great book

For those of us who are waiting for a sequel their is hope, Linda has been ill, and has spent the last two years fulfilling existing contracts. She will be writing the sequel soon. So don't give up.......Giovanni

Great story - I however hated reading a book without an ending. I purchased a Sci-fi book by William Tedford (Time Quest) years ago. I tried for years to find the sequels. I failed! I don't plan to purchase any other stories by this author for fear she's just teasing us ("faithful sci-fi readers") and raking in money while dangling us from a string. Reading is one of my true loves. I'd like to read the sequel before I someday cross the street and get hit by a truck! --H.E.Wilson IV
