Book Overview

She was a girl as beautiful and innocent as her family's lush Caribbean plantation-until she discovered the darkness of desire and became a woman. Expelled from paradise, Teresa Francis would be swept into marriage and the opulence of New York only to be drawn back to her island, where secrets can ignite explosions of political upheaval and clandestine love.

Eden Burning

I read this book when it first came out and never forgot it. I reread it recently and appreciated it even more. I became each character--knowing, feeling their experiences. I am saving my copy as a gift for my beloved granddaughter. She is just 4 now, but what a "world" Belva Plain has given us!

good book , made me laugh .

i liked the book . it wasn't a masterpiece of course but it was very good I think . It takes place on a glamorous / slumy island of saint felice . i couldn't help falling in love with the male charectors and hating all the female ones , except for kate tarbox . good book . good book .

Good read.

I havn't quite finished this book but I am enjoying it. The characters are brought to life and you can feel the emotions. Lush descriptions of Caribbean as well as wise insights into the aftermath of slavery, bigotry and power.
