Funny and hot...

Even with the other great reviews on the book, I was a little skeptical because it seemed too long at 370+ pages. However, the book is so well written, the characters so fun, it was a fast read. The lead characters are quirky, lovable, and sexy. The dialog was great, the minor characters were well drawn and the story lines easy to follow. It had a good balance of sexual heat and humor, and although you'll figure out who is stalking the lead character immediately, you're still interested in trying to figure out the "why". It's hard to find a book that is funny AND sexy AND romantic, but this one succeeds. It is definitely a keeper.

I loved it

I was very happy with this book. I found it very entertaining. Kept me laughing and wondering when the damger would pop out. The characters for the most part were perfect for the story. Harriet was a little over the top and annoyed me to no end. I didnt like her any better at the end of the story then I did at the beginning. T. Larry was a wonderful hero and Madison cracked me up. I loved all her nick names for people. Over all its a great book with only small faults that can be over looked and that fall more to personal opinion in any case. Id recommend it.

You'll "drop dead" from laughter

Madison O'Donnell believes in fate - since her she had a stroke at the age of 15 just like her father, she assumes she too will die of a stroke at 28. So she lives life to the fullest. With only a couple weeks until her 28th birthday, she decides what she really needs is to fall in love. She finds a great candidate in Richard, who mistakenly calls her office and manages to secure a date with Madison, much to the chagrin of her uptight boss, T. Laurence Hobbes, who has nursed a crush on Madison most of the seven years she has worked for him. But she is too impulsive and does not fit into his future plan. But as she spends time with pretty boy Richard, T. Larry (as Madison calls him), is seeing red. When the firm is served with a lawsuit by less attractive Harriett, T. Larry is forced to enact some pretty stringent office rules. Which he manages to violate within a day. Is his passion for Madison relinquishing his sanity and sense of decorum? As the two fall for each other, each is hesitant to completely let go (well, except for in the bedroom. And, well, the office). As Madison reaches ever closer to her birthday, trouble continues to stalk her and danger is just around the corner. Will she be able to make it to 28 with T. Larry by her side? Skully's latest is another rip roaring treat for the reader. She has an incredible way of weaving a sensuous story with plenty of zing and lots of humor, and just a hint of suspense. The humorous office shenanigans, the infamous list of rules, the well meaning brothers, and Madison's curiosity about what the "T" in "T. Larry" stood for had me in stitches. And I don't know how she did it, but Skully managed to make a really unlikeable character like Harriett sympathetic. No one can pack a 1-2-3 punch like Skully!

Madison O'Donnell believes in living life to the fullest. Her father died young of a stroke and Madison, already having had one stroke when she was younger, believes that it is her destiny to die at the same age. With her birthday fast approaching, she wants to experience passionate love. She never expects to find it with her stuffy, stick in the mud boss, accountant T. Laurence Hobbs. T-Larry, as Madison has affectionately dubbed him, has a plan for his future, a plan in which Madison and her flighty, quirky personality, have no place. As Madison and T-Larry begin to fall in love and the passion explodes between them, can either of them let go of their fears and plans and take a chance on love? When it comes to romance Jennifer Skully delivers! Readers who are looking for a funny, yet emotionally satisfying romance will want to add Drop Dead Gorgeous to their must-be-read list. T-Larry is not the average romance hero; a slightly balding accountant, he's still sexily attractive, even if he is a little uptight. Madison, although she seems a little flighty, is sweetly endearing and genuine. Between T-Larry and Madison the emotion and heat fill the pages. I was thoroughly engrossed in wanting T-Larry and Madison to find their way past their individual hang-ups to the happily ending that was waiting for them. An outstanding storyteller!

Madison O'Donnell is the perky secretary for T. Laurence Hobbs. She is convinced that she is going to die at the age of twenty-eight by a stroke, just as her father did. Why? Because she also had a stroke at the age of fifteen, just like her father. Therefore, she has no plans to ever marry or have kids. Madison takes life easy and lives it to her fullest. She never holds a grudge either; not even against Harriet, the office's militant feminist who seems to hate every single thing about Madison. Before she dies of a stroke within the very near future, Madison plans to find the perfect woman for her boss. Laurence loves Madison's perkiness and unpredictability. She is also an excellent secretary. His plans are to prove to Madison that she is the woman for him. But Harriet seems to be out for blood lately against everyone in the company, especially against Madison (and Zach, another co-worker). But does Harriet hate Madison enough to be the person who slashed Madison's tires, ruined all the clothes in her closet at home, or any of the other awful things that have occurred lately? ***** All throughout the story there resides a hint of danger. The longer I read, the worse danger seems to stalk Madison. Author Jennifer Skully has a rare talent of being able to weave suspense, drama, and a bit of comedy into her tales, while making her characters so lovable to me, that I never realize how attached to them I am becoming. I slowed my reading way down toward the end, as if that would somehow prolong the story. The author also shows why Harriet acts the way she does. I, as the reader, could actually understand Harriet's point-of-view, even if I did not agree with them. The secondary characters of Harriet and Zach are very believable.
