WWII Home front child's account

This book is wonderful! Steers was a small boy during WWII and writes about what it was like for a young boy during these years. Steers grew up in Bethlehem, PA. I happen to live in Bethlehem, so his stories have extra life. I really think this book should be required reading for students in high school. Fantastic book.
