Great set for beginning readers

My 4 year old loves dinosaurs and LOVED reading these books! He liked the characters and found the stories fun, and he read through all 12 books as soon as he got the set! There were only a few words he needed help with, which I actually liked, because it challenged him and forced him to practice sounding words out. He enjoyed this series SO much more than the Bob Books series or similar beginning books that don't have interesting stories and just don't hold the attention of beginning readers. These books make reading enjoyable, provide good practice for beginners and give kids a sense of accomplishment at being able to read a fun story by themself. I only wish there was another set of Dinopals books!

Great books for early readers.

I really don't believe that the age group given in the description is correct. I certainly hope that most 9-12 year olds know their short vowels, long vowels, and consonants and that they can read chapter books by now. I bought this set for my kindergartener who loves them. The first time we opened the box he ended up reading four books in a row. I had to stop him because it was time to go to bed otherwise I'm sure he would have continued and read the whole set. These books are easy to read but still are interesting enough to make early readers proud for reading by themselves.
