Her Cousin's Keeper

Okay, I like the older books the best of all the books out there, but I slam into the wall of mean, even abusive alpha males, this book is like that. Dimitrios Koutsoupis loves his family, and he takes his responsibility of taking care of them over the edge. When his nephew Nikos falls in love, and is rejected, Dimitrios goes to confront the woman who has the gall to walk on his nephew's heart. Problem, he picks the wrong woman, he's after Poppy, but he confronts Ria. The two women were as different as night and day. It seemed odd with all the things Nikos told his uncle, he never told him Poppy has red hair and brown eyes. Ria is blond, with gray eyes. The thing that puzzled me through the first ten chapters was if he thought so little of her, and her morals, why would he want to keep her in his nephew's life. It would have made sense if he tried to pay her off, so she would stay out of Nikos life instead of forcing her to come to Greece, but his sister is ill, and he wants her to meet the woman his nephew is in love with. First he beats on Ria's door like a demented person, then when she opens the door after he threatens to knock it down, he rags her for opening it. Problem Dimitrios falls head over heels in love with Ria, only he hates what he thinks she is but he can't keep his hands off of her. When Poppy shows up with Nikos, Dimitrios has another bat to beat her with, because he mistook her for Poppy and she didn't correct him, although several times she did try. From the back of the book: 'Deception and desire...Dimitrios was convinced Ria had broken his nephew's heart, toying with his affections then jilting him. He thought her only interests in life were having fun and captivation eligible men! And he was determined to teach her the error of her ways. His punishment was outrageous: Ria was forced to play the part of adoring fiancee... But Dimitrios had the wrong woman: he'd mistaken Ria for her wayward cousin Poppy! It was an impossible situation, but suddenly Ria found herself falling for Dimitrios in a big way. Deception and desire were proving a heady cocktail!'
