King David's achievements were never reached by any of the following Kings of Judah and Israel. Like Moses for the tabernacle, he made great preparations for the temple, not only in material but by organizing the duties of the Levites, the priests, the musicians, the gatekeepers and the treasurers.Like Joshua, his military and political organizations were exceptional. He succeeded in all the battles of the Lord and maintained peace within the Kingdom and around it in all its borders. The Kingdom of Israel reached the borders promised by the Lord, from Dan to Beersheba, under his rule.Yet, he was not perfect and made mistakes but his great success was based on the fact that he was a worshiper of God in all the circumstances of his life, he was quick to repent when he sinned and quick to forgive when offended. He loved Saul, who wanted to kill him, and mourned his death. He often consulted God and obeyed him faithfully. He listened to the men of God surrounding him. He was truly "a man after God's heart".
