love with the proper stranger

'"I've never trusted a woman in my life!" Domenicos Aegethos was as blunt as his words. A wealthy man who got what he wanted, he booked no argument from anyone, least of all a woman. As companion to Domenicos's motherless daughter, Laura had her work cut out for her. Amanda was a rebellious, suspicious child (of 16). But compared to her father, Amanda was easily understood, and Laura grew fond of her while holidaying in Paris. The real problems began when Laura started to like Amanda's enigmatic father too much!' In this book it Nico was in love with Laura as soon as he saw her, we knew it, he and Laura took longer to catch on. I loved that.

4 1/2 stars - wish there was an epilogue!

Heroine is hired to watch over the hero's rebellious teenage daughter. Hero had a very sad past, his mother supposedly abandoned him and his father for someone else, his wife cheated on him, died when his daughter was only four. Needless to say, hero doesn't trust women one bit and who can blame him? I love the heroine. She was just so cool and collected. She had a nice facade that only got ruffled in rare moments (like when hero corners her hahaha!) My only complaint is I also wish it was longer. I would have loved to see the daughter's reaction to her father and heroine hooking up, haha. I know she'd be happy but I still want to read it. I also thought the semi love triangle the heroine had with Marcel - not that it was much of a love triangle, kinda ended fast, like the author just plopped it in there. But very minor complaints other than that, I loved the story. I've placed it in my "keep forever" list.

From the back of the book: "I've never trusted a woman in my life!" Domenicos Aegetos was as blunt as his words. A wealthy man who got what he wanted, he brooked no argument from anyone, least of all a woman. As a companion to Domenicos's motherless daughter, Laura had her work cut out for her. Amands was a rebellious, suspicious child. but compared to her father, Amanda was easily understood, and Laura grew fond of her while holidaying in Paris. The real problems began when Laura started to like Amanda's enigmatic father too much! My take: Domenicos does not trust women because his mother was forced to abandon him when she left his abusive father. Domenicos was taught by his father that she prefered a new husband over her son.It doesn't help that Domenicos's wife cheats on him with another man. This is a very good book. I wish it was a tad bit longer thought. It would of been nice if the hero resolved his issues surronding his mother's abandonment of him as a small child.
