Better than his writing

I first heard of Edward Albee in a foreward he wrote for a collection of plays by Noel Coward. I assumed, if he was someone influenced by the New Renaissance man, I would enjoy his plays. I've read 6, and hate them all. Zoo Story isn't too bad, the rest are good plays, just not my cup of tea. However, this is not what this book is about. Like James McNeill Whistler, he speaks his philosophy when he is SPEAKING it far better than when he is painting, or, in this case, writing. Albee is a genius, and his conversations inspired me and helped me formulate much of my personal views of theater and life.
