Wonderful resource!!

This book is so good because it evaluates so many other books before buying. Teaching tips great, too

Get your highlighters ready!

Let me begin by saying that this is such a great book ... though not for the faint of heart (it is over 450 pages)! I had to purchase a new highlighter halfway through the book! It is definitely for someone seriously seeking information from a Christian perspective. This book may also be extremely helpful for those who may choose to teach something other than a bible-based curriculum. I began reading this book hoping that it would answer a few more questions that I had about curriculum; however, it opened up even more ideas that I had never even thought about. I expected to close the book with a head full of pointers. Well, I got that, and so much more! There is a whole world of possibilities out there for today's home-schooler. It was a lengthy, detailed, inspirational read. I recommend it to anyone that has already made the decision to home school, but needs the knowledge to pick a curriculum that is tailored to the child. This book has a wealth of information within its covers.

Excellent Book!

This was an awesome book, really excellently written. Either a new or vetern homeschooler can learn from this book. As my child's parent and teacher it gave me wonderful ideas and resources to go look through and eventually buy. Was totally mind improving. I soaked up the information Cathy Duffy had to share. Saved me time and money by giving wonderful reviews of curriculum and resources. I can't wait for the next updated book comes out, so I can be better informed on what has come out since this 1997=1998 resource. Parents looking for curricum or resources will be refreshingly surprised at all the fine reviews you will find inside this book.

Excellent resource for new and veteran home schoolers

Cathy Duffy has done a terrific job reviewing tons of different curricula. This book will also help you assess your child's learning style so you can tailor your choices to it. This is a great book that you will turn to again and again. It is written from a Christian perspective but I think even non-Christians will find a lot of useful information here. Well worth the money.

The Definitive Help for Homeschoolers

The amount of information in this book is phenomenal. Whether you're beginning or "an old pro" you will find help in teaching, curriculum, resources, learning styles and so much more. This book has been a God-send for me as a beginning homeschooler. It has also given me the confidence to believe I really can do this. This is a "must read."
