Three girls living in Saudi Arabia in the late 1700s discover something incredible... incredible meaning unbelievable. As children, twins Ali and Sarah had heard the stories of the Judges and the Spirit Stones they left on the Earth for humans to discover. Spirit Stones were believed to allow humans to harness the energy in their bodies and use it to perform magic. One day Ali, Sarah, and their friend Katla discover a Spirit Stone. Because three found the Stone it breaks into three fragments, dividing its power between them. The girls are young and immature so the Judges watch over them closely. The three friends decide to form the Crescent, an organization in which they hope to teach others how to harness their own energy to help this chaotic world. Unfortunately Sarah's selfish heart weakens the Crescent, and when Katla is killed during a dispute, Sarah splits the Crescent and the twins go their separate ways. Now the secrets of more than two centuries are thrust upon fifteen-year-old Izzy Blane, whose strange adopted sister claims that Izzy is the One from an ancient Prophecy to bring the twins back together... or destroy them. But when magic suddenly comes into her life, Izzy isn't certain what to do with it.
