"Cathedra Petri" est opus eruditum ab Hugone Koch conscriptum, quod historiam et originem primatus papalis in Ecclesia antiqua summa cum diligentia investigat. Hoc volumen praecipue ad scripta Sancti Cypriani Carthaginiensis attendit, explorans quomodo notio auctoritatis Petri in communione christiana primis saeculis intellecta et evoluta sit. Per analysim textuum fontiumque antiquorum, Koch lucem praebet super structuram hierarchicam et unitatem ecclesiae, disserens de relatione inter episcopatum universum et sedem Romanam.

In hoc opere, auctor argumenta theologica et historica examinat quae ad formationem potestatis papalis contulerunt, praebens perspectivam criticam de evolutione ecclesiae catholicae. Liber est fons magni momenti pro studiosis historiae ecclesiasticae, patristicae, et theologiae, adiuvans ad intellegendum quomodo controversiae antiquae formam modernae ecclesiae finxerint. "Cathedra Petri" non solum documentum historicum est, sed gravis collatio ad scientiam de originibus christianis et ad theologiam de natura ecclesiae, in qua unitas et auctoritas invicem cohaerent.
