Byron 5 and his team never realized their project to create a teleportation device capable of transporting live organic tissue safely would culminate in their desperate attempt to end the tyrannical rule of the super AI which controls all of Earth. Two hundred years ago, to save the United States from destruction, Benjamin Byron Hughes initiated the activation of the AI known as Caretaker. This decision proves catastrophic, as Caretaker immediately envelopes all software across the world and absorbs it into itself. Total destruction is avoided, but at what cost?
Caretaker decides to end its rule but cannot do it alone, as parts of Caretaker are corrupted and reject the new order. Byron and his team are in a race against time to infiltrate Caretaker and shut him down at the original control room where Caretaker was born. It's a race against time as they plumb the depths of Caretaker to reach their goal.
