Planes, Trains, Automobiles & Boats, Oh My!

When Ros Moreland gets a letter from her friend Lyn asking her to drop everything and rush to Majorca to help out her God Mother, Mildred Fisher the famous painter, she's a little ticked off that her friend would send her a plane ticket and expect her to fly from England to Spain with only a day's notice. But Ros had just broken it off with her boyfriend and could use a change.Reading further in the letter, Ros notices that Mildred Fisher is having a show of some kind in Majorca and that during these things she gets so caught up in her paintings and her work that she can't see what's going on around her and a lot of people take advantage of her. She winds up with a lot of hangers on and it's going to be Ros's job to sort all that out. The letter further states that she'll be met at the airport in Paris, where she has to change planes, by an old family friend named Keel Hennessy, please see photo enclosed. Only Lyn had forgotten to enclose the photo. But that's not a problem, Ros thinks, she'll just look for a lonely and inquiring old guy at the gate and that'll be her man.Only she can't find anybody like that when she gets to the airport. Instead a handsome and striking man finds her and identifies himself as Keel Hennessy. Not at all what Ros had expected. Furthermore this is an airline strike and so they are in a dreadful hurry.Keel rushes Ros out of the airport, spirits her by cab to a hotel where they have to leave their bags, which Ros doesn't understand at all. Then the cab drives at the speed of light to the Gare du Nord where they catch a train to Le Havre. When Ros finds out the destination she understands, they're going to go by boat to Majorca. But it's a small sailboat with only her and Keel aboard. There are rough seas. Then when the boat makes land fall, he spirits her away to a small two seater aircraft and now she knows why she had to leave her luggage behind.By the time Ros gets to Majorca her head is in a whirl and yours will be too as you read along as Ros has her adventure and her romance. This is simply a delightful book written way back in 1987, but it's as good, no, it's way better than most of the romances that have come out since. If you find this one, you will not be disappointed.A Harlequin Dreamers Review by Gracie Houston
