This book is great!!!!

The book is very intresting and keeps you away of the illnesses of anorexia and bulimia because you realize that those problems are very very serious and I think that's really important and Ann M. Martin is doing a favor to everyone that reads the book. She is a great writer. 'Bout the book if Maggie keeps on thinking that she's fat, I think (though it can't be) she's going to disappear!!! READ THIS BOOK IT IS REALLY INTRESTING

I couldn't stop reading it

I got the book and read it in one fourth of a day. The way the writer writes the story you feel like you are acutally there watching her with the desperate cry of help she doesn't relize she is giving. While her brother is gone it get worse that's all I'm going to say. I do not want to spoil a great book like this one.

An Excellent Book!

Poor Maggie. She's only a teen but is faced with problems no one ever wants to see. She's challenged with the fact she has anorexia, a devistating eating disorder. Her mother is an alcoholic and to top it all off, her father is trying to make her something she'll never be. This story makes you realize that even having a tremendous amount of money like Maggie's family, its not all that wonderful. Especially in Maggie's case! I can never put down California Diary books because they are so interesting! Ann M. Martin is an excellent author of this series and I recommend it to everyone! The author's got a great idea of what goes on in our minds!

A well-written diary

This is a really great, well-written book about a 13-year old girl who is having difficulties in her life. The diary is wonderful, with tremendous detail. The good part is, like real diaries, that there isn't an ending--you must read other books that help you understand all the people's lives better. Maggie in the book has an eating disorder, her mother is an alchoholic and her father is trying to make her into something she's not. It's a very wonderful book that you should read. Afterwards, you might want to read Amalia, Diary 2 , because Amalia in the book talks a lot about Maggie and how she's trying to help.

5 Stars! California Diaries is the best series around!

This book is really, really good. It seemed so real to me that I just wanted to slap Maggie around and tell her to wake up or something! I read it in one day, which is what I always do with the California Diaries series books. I am really excited and can't wait until Amalia diary two comes out!
