Most if not all publications and even writers themselves claim to be "edgy," or at the very least they have one thing in common: something to say. But not all that many have the ability to do it and do it authentically. I always say that if someone is trying too hard it shows.

I say all that to say it's not easy, the dedication to craft that is required to send in a great piece that hits that spot that you instantly know "That's good. That's real." Well, that's what this issue is about. It's a tribute to the writer bleeding ink and using their muscles to get it done. And the thing about a writer who is "getting it done" is they are humble enough to share it with us, but also confident enough to share it with us. This combination gets you at least half the way there. Because the drive shows, it shows in the work, both from a quantitative and qualitative perspective.

I may not know all there is to know about this publishing thing but I'm willing to support these fellow wayfarers in their journey to express themselves. My job is to present it in such a way that makes it readily available and accessible for you, dear readers.

May all enjoy what they find here and most of all get something out of it. If we can say that then we know we've done our jobs. And that's a reward all its own.
